BIIAB Level 1 Award in Essentials of Catering
Course Summary
This qualification covers the basic essentials required for working in a commercial kitchen, including hygiene factors, health and safety, basic knife skills and operating and cleaning kitchen machinery.
This award is for anyone new to working in a commercial kitchen. Beginners will learn about basic knife skills, food preparation, sandwich making, food presentation, personal hygiene and work clothing.
The award is first in a suite of three BIIAB catering qualifications. Candidates who qualify in the BIIAB Level 1 Award in Essentials of Catering, will be able to progress to the BIIAB Level 2 Award in Cooking Theory and Practice.
