What's it all about?

This qualification provides the knowledge of how to prepare for such events, control entry and exit of customers, identify and deal with crowd problems and respond to emergencies. Subjects covered include the preparation of spectator events, controlling spectators at events, assessment of crowds and response to potential crowd problems at spectator events and response to injuries illness and other emergencies.

Is it suitable for me?

This accredited qualification is ideal for anyone who wishes to learn how to become a Safety Steward at events such as sports, music festivals, concerts, parades or carnivals. Anyone who is able to understand both written and spoken English can undertake this qualification and once you are qualified, must be prepared to work long hours and at unsocial times.

How will I be assessed?

This qualification is assessed on the successful completion of the learners portfolio. This qualification is registered on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at Level 2 and holds a credit value of 5.
