About the Role
We are looking for friendly, patient individuals to join our specialist education team in Cornwall. We are currently supporting a number of learners who all have their own different styles and approaches to learning due to having a diagnosis of special educational needs and disabilities.
The role of a Job Coach is varied as each person we support may need different types of assistance or prompting. Job Coaches are responsible for planning lessons and activities, finding ways to encourage learners to engage in their local community, develop their skills for life, independence skills including how to look after themselves as independently as possible, work towards independent travelling, and assessing the learners progress.
A job coach would assist learners to work towards their ultimate goal of finding sustainable employment, help learners into supported living and assist them with finding their future path.
A job coach, is an individual who is employed to help people with disabilities learn, accommodate and perform their work duties. A Job Coach, may work with individuals on a one to one or small group basis.
It is important that the Job Coach is able to assess the learner’s strengths and weaknesses and build on their skills.
It would be advantageous for applicants to have a knowledge of working with individuals who have learning disabilities along with previous experience of working in various job roles.
Stage 1: – Once Applications are scored, successful applicants will be required to undertake a zoom interview in the first instance where they will be assessed against a set of requirements for the job role, if successful applicants with then be invited to a face to face interview.
Stage 2: – Once successful at stage 1 Applicants will be invited to a face to face interview with the Senior Management Team, where their suitability for the role will be assessed by each of the interview panel. If successful at this stage, applicants will progress to stage 3.
Stage 3: – Job Offer and Pre-Employment Checks. All applicants must be prepared to have a full, enhanced DBS check carried out along with other recruitment checks as required.
Required licences or qualifications:
Full Driving Licence and own car insured for business use.
Qualifications relating to: Teaching, Assessing or Information, Advice and Guidance.
